While at Threekit, over the course of 2019 I led the CGI production and technical direction for a large-scale digital customization initiative for Tailored Brands — the largest specialty menswear and suit retailer in North America, with brands such as Men’s Wearhouse, Jos. A. Bank, Moores, Clothing for Men.
This experience was deployed as an in-store sales tool, empowering stylists to guide customers through the creation of custom suits in a highly visual, interactive format. The system needed to operate at enterprise scale while maintaining the realism and precision expected in premium tailoring.
Acting as both Lead CGI Artist and CGI Supervisor, I directed internal artists and an external production studio, defining modeling standards, lighting workflows, and asset governance frameworks to ensure visual consistency across millions of configurable combinations.
I architected a layered rendering pipeline that modularized garment components — separating jackets, pants, vests, and shirts into configurable systems, with granular options such as lapel styles, pocket configurations, button variations, and structural details. Each component was rendered in 16 rotational views to create a full 360° turntable experience.
To maximize both realism and production efficiency, we implemented a hybrid workflow combining photographed model elements (heads, hands, footwear) with physically accurate 3D garment renders. This allowed for high-fidelity output while enabling scalable reuse across the entire customization ecosystem.
In addition to the full suit configuration view, we also had additional views that showcased jacket interior linings and options, as well as sleeve linings.
The result was a production-ready visualization system that bridged physical retail and digital configuration, delivering scalable personalization at enterprise retail scale.
